I'm fundraising for remote and rural Queenslanders doing it tough
Doing it tough in the bush means doing it extra tough, because people in remote, rural and regional Queensland don’t have the same access to professional mental health services and support. For many, the Flying Doctor is their only option.
That’s why I’m challenging myself to walk 3km a day in March. I hope to raise as much as possible for the Royal Flying Doctor Service. Please support me!
Together we can keep the Flying Doctor flying, delivering 3 major mental health programs (Drought Wellbeing, Remote Wellbeing and Wellbeing Out West) and over 12,100 mental health consultations a year to regional, rural and remote Queensland.
Please donate to my challenge today!

Our Why 🫶🏼
Wednesday 25th FebTwelve years ago, our then 6-year-old son was diagnosed with leukaemia.
The moment our world changed began in an isolation room in the Emergency Department at Rockhampton Base Hospital. He had been brought in by ambulance from Yeppoon with suspected meningococcal, a bandage on his tiny arm, a huge bruise on his forehead, and fear sitting heavy in our chests.
When the doctor returned to the room and told us it looked like our little man had leukaemia, everything shifted. We needed to get to Brisbane for confirmation and urgent treatment. And that’s where one of the most incredible supports in our story stepped in: the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
The RFDS made sure we were transported safely from Rockhampton to the Royal Children’s Hospital in Brisbane.
But it wasn’t just about transport. In one of the most terrifying moments of our lives, they carried us with professionalism, compassion and care. They made sure our son was safe. They made sure we were supported. They helped us get where we needed to be, quickly, calmly and with dignity.
That diagnosis put our family on a path like no other.
It’s not something we would ever wish on anyone. It’s not something we would choose to relive. But it is something we lived through, and grew through. That experience shaped us, tested us, and ultimately rebuilt us into the family we are today.
And we are deeply, profoundly grateful.
So this March, we are giving back.
We’ve committed to raising funds for the Royal Flying Doctor Service while also committing to getting our steps up every single day, moving with intention, gratitude and purpose in honour of the support we once received.
RFDS provides lifesaving care and critical transport to families across regional and remote Australia. When you live outside a major city, access to urgent medical care can depend on services like this. We know that firsthand.
We would love your support.
